Knit to the Point

My Knitting Journey

My name is Megan Paparella and I started knitting when I was a child, but back then I only learned how to knit the most basic shapes. This resulted in me knitting countless dishcloths because that was as far as I was able to go, only having learned how to cast on, knit, purl and cast off. I had no idea how to read a pattern. or any other stitches.

Over time, I forgot even those basic skills. When I picked it back up again decades later I had to start from scratch. I would say that learning how to purl again presented the biggest challenge! Thankfully, there are a lot more resources out there now that are way beyond just looking it up in a book. However, despite the wealth of information on social media such as YouTube and TikTok, and just by Googling each and every question I had, it was still difficult to find exactly what I needed, when I needed it.

I created this website in order to gather all of that essential information into one place. Many of my tutorials are extremely short – and that is by design! I want to get right to the point and show you how to do a stitch for example, without a lot of commentary. There will be some of that as well, but just not in many of the quick video demonstrations. This website will be helpful for me too, because I find that even if I learn a stitch or technique, if I don’t use it often I tend to forget it. I then have to look it up again and again each time I need it.

I hope this site helps you on your knitting journey as I build out more and more pages and tutorials.
